Kai is looking for: A Room / Apartment / Studio in Gent

I'm a doctoral researcher at the Ghent University, just arrived here from Berlin, and I'm looking for a place (room or apartment, with or without flatmates) to rent long-term.
I am looking for a place that costs preferably no more than 800 EUR per month, requires no longer than an 1.5-hour commute to the Ghent University, and is available as soon as possible (i.e. in November). Domicile is crucial for me (please note that, for foreign citizens, domicile is NOT hoofdverblijfplaats, which remains in our home countries). Aside from that, I am very flexible (although it would be brilliant if the place is also queer-friendly).
A little about me: I don't smoke, don't have any children, partners, or pets (but if my roommate has pets, I don't mind, and I get along well with them, especially cats). I am quiet, orderly, study-focused, and tend to spend most of my time at the university or the library. But I also wouldn't mind spending time together as roommates every once in a while, since I am very new in Ghent and would be happy to get to know new people here. Naturally, I will also contribute to keeping the house clean. I am not Dutch-speaking (yet), unfortunately, but I speak English, German and Russian, and I'm starting to learn Dutch. My area of research is social neuroscience, and I do creative writing as a hobby.
